Summer Has Come to an End

I can't believe that summer is over and I have not blogged since Mother's Day. I couldn't wait for summer to get here cause I thought I would have more time to get things done including blog more but that was not the case. I think summer may have been more busy then the school year. I noticed that with a blended family and sharing the kids with their other parent, in the summer we have kids one week then the next week they are with their other parent, that makes the summer go by twice as fast. If that's even possible. Well it is cause here we are August 20th and the kids go back to school in 5 days. So in one big post let me bring you up to speed on our crazy summer or at least part of it.

June started out very busy. The biggest news of the summer my baby Brittany got her drivers license. Oh boy watch out now. I can't believe she is driving and has a car. And then Brennan and Emerson were still playing baseball and they had a great season. Their team, The Buckeyes, ended up finishing the season in 2nd place. Which is so awesome cause before this year that group of boys had only won maybe 2 games. They played hard this year and came so far and won 2nd place. The only bummer of it all was that during the Championship game week we were on vacation in the Outer Banks so the boys didn't get to play in the last couple of games. Oh well, next year they move up to the Pony League playing for Toronto againist other schools. I can't wait!
So to continue or busy June we went on vacation with my brother in laws David and Michael, my adopoted niece Angel, my brother in law Sam his wife Lori and their daughters. Then one of my best friends from home Brandi or Bink as we all call her came down. Oh and of course cousin Teva. We had a house full and it was so much fun. We hung out at the house and at the beach and just enjoyed family time and relaxed. The house was a great size and we were in a gated community so it was safe for the kids. Which was nice cause Brittany got to bring her friend Brittany so the two of them ran around and I really wasnt worried cause there was security around all the time. Boy was it nice having a kid that could drive cause we sure did use that; we had her running to the store at least 5 times a day. She got a lot of driving experience there at the Outer Banks.
Once we were back from vacation I'm not sure where the summer went. July 4th seem to come and go without much of a thought. Then in the middle of July Titan cheering started for Bailee, Maddie, and me. I was asked to help coach the JV girls, which is the squad the girls cheer on. I have had so much fun helping out and being able to spend that time with the girls. Sami is our mascot in training. She knows most of the cheers and is so funny to watch. Once cheering practice started the second half summer just flew by. The other coach Lynda and I have worked real hard with the girls perfecting their cheering so that this Sunday, their first game, they will look perfect. Helping coach the girls has made me understand what coaches and teachers have to go thru and as much as I love coaching and hope to continue in the years to come as long as they need my help I have so much respect for people who do it 5 days a week 7 or 8 hours a day. And at times it's not the kids that are hard to deal with it's the parents. But that is another post for another day. But since the middle of July we have had practice twice a week so that has kept us girls busy.
I can NOT believe that June and July went by so fast and I really don't feel like we got to do a whole lot but on the other had we were so busy that I didn't get to do things around the house or here on my blogs that I wanted to get done or even hang out with my other mommy friends like I wanted. So maybe the school year, as hectic as it is, isn't as busy as I once thought.
Stay tuned to see what we did in August. Which I will have to post soon or we'll be into September.
